The Israel Defence Forces claimed to have struck over 200 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets in the Gaza Strip overnight.
They said the shelling included a Hamas headquarters, where several members were killed, and a bank used by the militant group.
Israeli naval vessels also carried out strikes against Hamas command centres and weapons storage sites in Gaza City, officials said.
In addition, the IDF said it killed four terrorists who tried to cross the border from Lebanon and plant an explosive device.
