On December 6, 2022, New Jersey native Joe P, joined us at the Leon Loft for an intimate live performance and interview with Acoustic Cafe's, Rob Reinhart.
With the onset of the pandemic and the dissolution of the band that he’d fronted since the 8th grade, Joe P used his time in isolation to branch out and experiment on his own. During his time on Acoustic Cafe, Joe performed acoustic renditions of “Off My Mind” from his 2021 album Emily Can’t Sing as well as “Color TV” and “All Day I Dream About” from his 2022 album French Blonde. Joe also graced the audience with his rendition of the Bruce Springsting hit “I’m On Fire”.
You can find Joe P’s 2022 album, French Blonde, on all streaming platforms. Vinyl, merch, and more can be found at joepthehyena.com.
In between songs, Joe talks about starting a band in the fifth grade, planting his musical roots with AC/DC, dealing with your emotions through music at a young age, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on his music, his horror movie/music showcase project “If We Run”, performing solo vs in a band, and changes in the local music scene.
