The final summer concert starts with the charming masterpiece Ma mere l'oye (Mother Goose) coupled with the pastoral French boating music of Debussy. De Falla's fiery Siete canciones populares españols finds the ideal interpreter in soprano Suzanna Guzmán. After intermission the surrealist world explodes in Milhaud's Le boeuf sur le toit, followed by a medley of Edith Piaf songs which wrap up our tribute to our French Chef from Pasadena, Julia Child
