Cheera Thoran is an easy-to-make South Indian side dish recipe which requires just a few simple ingredients to get prepared. Apart from its great taste, this dish is also very healthy as it contains spinach, which is a very good source of vitamins, minerals, folic acid, calcium and iron. This delicacy is perfect for you if you want to cook something healthy for your loved ones.
Ingredients:
500 gm spinach
1 tbs coconut oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
8 nos. curry leaves
2 nos. dry red chilies
5 nos. shallots (diced)
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 tbs crushed red chili powder
salt to taste
Preparation:
Wash the cheera under cold running water and put on a cloth to soak excess water. Chop it nicely on the chopping board.
Heat oil in a pan over medium flame and add mustard seeds along with curry leaves and dry red chilies.
Cook for a minute. Now, add the cheera and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the grated coconut, crushed red chili powder and salt to taste. Grind well.
Once done add the grinded mixture to the pan where our cheera is being cooked. Mix Well.
After 5-8 mints take out in a bowl and serve hot with chapati or rice!
