We often get so hyped about how new technology may improve our living standards or resolve many current global challenges such as mitigating climate change, curing deadly diseases, or even immortalizing our lives. While enthusiasm for technology is admirable, being overconfident to the point where we regularly overlook its risks and unintended consequences is another story. Quynh is a Li Ka Shing Foundation scholar studying public policy with a keen research interest in technology and innovation policies at the National University of Singapore. She also serves as Executive Director of CyberKid Vietnam, a social enterprise in Vietnam that pioneers online child protection and civic digital literacy development. Prior to these experiences, from 2017 - 2020, she traveled to over 9 developing countries to lead, organize, and participate in approximately 50 social projects centered on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
