Today's Topic - Fear Is Negative Meditation

Today's Verse - 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)

Fear can be a powerful force. When you’re afraid of something, it can feel as
though it controls your life.
Your decisions can become
shaped by fear, causing you to make poor or life-limiting choices. The good news is, fear doesn’t have to control you and as a child of God it doesn’t belong to you.
Fear pushes in on us, and if we give in to it, it’s o"en because we’re allowing ourselves to imagine the worst. If you’re afraid of heights, you picture yourself falling. If you’re afraid of public speaking, you picture yourself freezing up in front of the crowd.
When thoughts like these plague you, you need to take them captive and throw them out of your mind, and then replace them with life- giving promises from God’s Word by meditating on these promises. Psalm 34:7 says, “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them,” so instead of picturing yourself falling, picture angels around you, keeping you safe. Second Timothy 1:7 says,
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” As you prepare your speech, remember that fear doesn’t belong to you, and envision yourself empowered by God’s Spirit in you, with His peace on you as you speak.
You can move forward in the face of fear by reading your Bible to find out what God has promised you, then claiming these promises as yours, meditating on them and picturing them being produced in your life. This is what biblical meditation is all about!
