The NFL has officially concluded its investigation into the latest legal accusations involving Deshaun Watson, signaling an end to yet another chapter in the Cleveland Browns quarterback’s tumultuous off-field saga. Watson will not face any fines or suspensions stemming from the most recent allegations of sexual assault, as the league determined there was insufficient evidence to substantiate a violation of its personal conduct policy.
League spokesperson Brian McCarthy confirmed the decision on Friday, stating, “The matter is closed. There was insufficient evidence to support a finding of a violation of the personal conduct policy.”
Rusty Hardin, Watson’s legal representative, expressed relief over the league’s conclusion, issuing a statement that read: “We are pleased this matter has been resolved and that Deshaun can now focus entirely on his recovery and preparations for the upcoming season.”
