(Class 1) Explosives
This class cover substances that have an explosion hazard, explosions that may project fragments and firebrands, and fire hazards. This class for examples, fireworks and TNT.
(Class 2) Gases
This class divided into 3 subdivisions include
2.1 flammable gases
2.2 non-flammable gases
2.3 toxic gases
(Class 3) Flammable Liquids
Class 3 comprises liquids or mixtures of liquids that have a flash point not more than 61 degrees Celsius.
(Class 4) Flammable Solids
Flammable solids are divided into 3 subdivisions that include
Division 4.1: highly flammable solids, Such as Carbon
Division 4.2: Spontaneously Combustible, Such as White phosphorus
Division 4.3: Dangerous When Wet. Such as metal sodium
(Class 5) Oxidizer or organic peroxide
This class is divided into two subdivisions and covers agents that react with oxygen and organic pesticides.
(Class 6) Toxic Substances; Infectious Substances
This class is divided into two subdivisions.
6.1 Toxic substances
6.2 infectious substances
Class 6 substances can pose significant risks to human and animal health upon contact.
(Class 7) Radioactive
Class 7 covers materials that have a specific activity greater than 0.002 microcuries per kilogram.
(Class 8) Corrosives
Corrosives are substances which by chemical action degrade or disintegrateother materials upon contact.
(Class 9) Miscellaneous
Class 9 is for miscellaneous dangerous items. The class does not have any subdivisions but comprises any substance that may pose a danger during transport that isn't covered by the other classes. Miscellaneous dangerous goods present a wide array of potential hazards to human health and safety, infrastructure and/ or their means of transport.
