Although Mumbai has produced many dons, none has been as colorful as Abu Salem. In 1993, the flamboyant former aide of Dawood Ibrahim was implicated in the blasts in Mumbai and in the murder of music composer Gulshan Kumar. He became equally known for his relationship with actress Monica Bedi. He also had close ties to Bollywood, leading to attempts on the lives of many of the industry's biggest names.
