In the Asia-Pacific region, FAO is working with its Member Nations to help them advance to the 2030 Agenda by achieving the Four Betters: better production, better nutrition, better environment and a better life – leaving no one behind. In India, FAO is working with its Member Nation to deliver a better environment through a sustainable and circular bioeconomy. It is supporting the country to harness crop residue for the production of alternative fuels such as compressed biogas (CBG) and biomass pellets, which are renewable energy sources that can help fight climate change by replacing coal and imported natural gas. Building a sustainable and circular bioeconomy supports rural livelihoods and a better environment for all.
