Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Union Budget for 2022-23 on Tuesday in both houses of the parliament. In the one and a half hour speech, the FM introduced key measures for boosting India's economy which has been hit hard by the pandemic.
The fiscal deficit was revised to 6.9% of the GDP while capital expenditure saw a 35% increase. A new digital rupee was introduced along with a new development scheme for the north east. However, many have since then called out the lack of any mention of healthcare, employment, and other key aspects of the economic expenditure.
