LEKKI-EPE EXPRESSWAY ROAD CONSTRUCTION: December 2024 Update | ABANDONED?




The Lekki-Epe Expressway is undergoing significant reconstruction to improve its durability and accommodate increased traffic from nearby projects such as the Dangote Refinery and Lekki Deep Seaport.

The road is being upgraded from asphalt to concrete pavement for long-term resilience, with Hitech Construction and Craneburg Construction handling different sections.

While some portions near Eleko Junction and Awoyaya are completed and open to traffic, ongoing work is causing severe congestion, particularly in areas like Sangotedo, where motorists face delays of several hours.

The Lagos State Government is actively working to address challenges, including traffic management and weather-related delays, and remains committed to the project's timely completion.
