From 1941 to 1945, John Deere built and sold the model LA. This is a two-cylinder tractor that produces just over 10HP at the drawbar. Useful for truck gardens, and for those who were looking to start replacing their horses or mules in the field. We visited with collector Bobby Dix from South Carolina during one of our trips to the Appalachian Antique Farm Show in Gray, Tennessee. Bobby prizes his John Deere LA, and enjoys the ease with which he can haul it to shows.
