Small lion pride in Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. We had spent a full day in the southern section of the park without seeing any lion at all, so decided to head back to camp. Along the way we got caught in a huge rainstorm, with two sections of the road flooded, forcing us to stop and wait for the rain to lighten at one crossing for about 30 min.

Finally we cross the flooded section and head towards the camp. Then, for no other reason that curiosity, I turned off the main road and headed back into the bush. And our patience and perseverance was rewarded with the most awesome lion sighting!

We spent at least 20 minutes watching these magnificent animals just meters from our vehicle. Quite simply awesome.
