Part 2 of TMNT 2 for the NES. Into the sewers, then into the snow!
Commentary:
0:01 - You knew there had to be at least one sewer. You can walk in the water down there just fine.
0:20 - Sledgehammer Foots are best dealt with using jumpkicks.
0:46 - Gah. Mousers. Try and kill them with a special attack as they jump through the wall, because if they get loose, they can become a total pain in the rear. If they do get past you, try jumpkicks. If they latch on to you, ram the buttons to shake them off.
1:27 - As you can see, the buggers can be hard to hit.
2:40 - This part is interesting. You can stay on the upper level and run under the gate, or you can try and "cleverly" go around it in the water...but then you need to deal with missiles. I find it easier to deal with the missiles myself.
3:43 - You earn a 1-up for every 200 "points" (you get one point per kill).
3:47 - Baxter Stockman is an absolutely pathetic boss. Simply jumpkick him until he dies. He has no attacks except for dropping Mousers, which can easily be avoided and barely do any damage anyways (Mousers only are annoying when you have to kill them)
5:13 - Okay, there's a few things wrong with this. First off, did anyone ever clue Konami in on the fact the fly character was the EXACT same one you just blew up? Or that he was as much Shredder's enemy as the TMNT's? And April looks ENTIRELY too happy there. This is the first major change from the arcade game...there it's Bebop and Rocksteady in the picture. Coming up would be the second major change...
5:21 - ...The snow level! This is the first of the two completely new levels in the game...and it's pretty good.
5:26 - Watch out for the falling rocks. Dodge the shadows.
5:55 - Stay near the top and let these things pass you by.
6:07 - Pizza Hut again, I think this is the last stage with one. Those "mounds" in the snow are open manholes. And we have a new villian...called...*sigh*...Frosty the Hit Man. Um...jumpkick them. And jumpkick the missiles.
6:39 - These are Snowball Foots, and they throw...wait for it...snowballs! Laaaaaaaaaaaame.
7:33 - Long stretches of empty ground are good indicators that something is gonna come by to try and run you over.
9:08 - Your boss, Tora, who seems to have been created for this game. He's not too tough, his "counterattack" is usually to run to one side, grab a rock falling from the sky, and throw it at you. If you hit him while he's catching the rock, he'll drop it, so keep doing that. Once you get him in the right spot, you can repeat pretty much at will.
10:42 - It is, indeed. That weather machine you may remember from another episode, actually.
