This theory is supported by the fact that only their skeletons remained, a fate that suggests a flamethrower or a disintergrator was used instead of a stormtrooper blaster. Furthermore, Kenobi states that the shots were very precise. However, considering that Stormtroopers are known for their inaccuracy, it would make more sense that this was Boba. However, a canon novel explained that although Boba did go looking for R2-D2 at the Lars homestead, Own and Beru had already perished by the time he got there.
