In continuation to the previous episode, veteran Indian actor Annu Kapoor and rummy master Amit Kapoor are here to talk about sequences, sets and the joker's role in rummy. By the end of this episode, you will be able to create sequences and sets and make the most of the joker card.
In rummy, cards need to be grouped into sequences or sequences and sets to make a valid declaration. Sequences in rummy are a collection of three or more consecutive cards from the same suit. A player can create two types of sequences: pure sequence and impure sequence. The difference between the two is the use of jokers. Pure sequences have no jokers used as a replacement for a missing card, whereas impure sequences consist of at least one joker.
The jokers' role in rummy is of utmost importance. It can be used as a replacement for any missing card in a sequence or a set. There are two types of jokers: printed joker and wild joker. Printed jokers are readily available in the card deck. On the other hand, a random card is selected at the beginning of the game, which becomes the wild joker for that game. As Amit Ji explains in the video, if 9♠ is selected as the wild joker, all the remaining 9s also become the wild jokers for that game.
While rummy is easy to learn, it is extremely challenging yet fun to play. Learn how to play rummy like an expert with Rummy School masters Annu Kapoor and Amit Kapoor!
