In a major announcement on Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday announced the government's proposal to revoke Article 370 and Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, which provided "special status" to the state.
According to the announcement, now the state has been bifurcated into two Union Territories with Ladakh being a UT without Legislature and remaining part of the state as Union Territory of J&K with Legislature.
