2️⃣ Payment processors: Payment platforms often send 1099K forms. If your tax return doesn’t match up with what they reported, you could trigger an audit.
3️⃣ Audit rates are low: In 2023, the IRS audited just 582,000 out of 270 million returns: so the chances of getting audited are slim, but it’s always good to get it right the first time! ✅
