Severe weather is back in the forecast for the southern High Plains today, as the SPC has outlined a Slight Risk (level 2/5) across eastern New Mexico and west Texas. Storms are expected to initiate along the higher terrain of eastern New Mexico and intensify as they move east, posing a risk for all hazards, including a few tornadoes. Questions remain over the degree of morning convection and the length of the window for discrete storms, but severe weather is likely within the Slight Risk area.
