Dalian is the only city in China where trolleybus-tramway crossings exist. The trams use bow collectors & pantographs to collect current while the trolleybuses use trolley poles. The crossing insulators allow trams and trolleybuses to go cross each other's catenary wires.
The 101 is the only trolleybus route in Dalian currently. So there is probably no trolleybus switch or trolleybus-trolleybus crossing in Dalian(what a shame…)
The crossings in Dalian seem to be the traditional type. Modern crossings allow trams and trolleybuses to collect current continously while going through the crossing. But tram drivers must cut off their power when going through a traditional crossing.
