Several members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) parliamentary caucus have expressed major reservations against adopting President Yoweri Museveni's proposal to push for the removal of the constitutional right to bail for people charged with certain crimes.
The legislators contend that the law may be abused to hold innocent people in perpetuity without a fair trial.
The meeting resolved to have the NRM Members of Parliament carryout consultations on the proposal for period of two weeks.
