ACCC Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb has revealed the consumer watchdog will seek significant penalties for Woolworths and Coles if it is successful in its legal action against supermarket giants.
She believes there needs to be a deterrent to stop not only supermarkets but other retailers from misleading consumers.
Speaking to Sky News, Ms Cass-Gottlieb detailed how the watchdog first learned of the alleged misleading price changes made by Coles and Woolworths.
