The KTM RC390 is now an excellent sportsbike for the money, but the more serious you are about sportsbikes, the more you should stretch for the Aprilia RS 457, it's excellenter. First, the RC390 will gain similar performance at least in numbers terms to the RS 457 when it updates to the 399cc engine from the 2024 Duke. Until then the Aprilia has more power and torque, and from a larger engine which makes it feel far more calm and refined. The Aprilia's is also a super flexible engine which makes riding, city, highway or racetrack, easier. Second, the RC390's advantage is in the suspension which feels far more polished thanks partly to the lighter wheels and brakes. That adds well with the more upright seating position. Most people will think the KTM is more comfortable immediately. And it is. Finally, the design looks like a foregone conclusion. We do like the RC390 with the smoked fairing but the Aprilia is just another level of quality, finish and it looks just so good!
