This course provides an in-depth look at evidence-based interventions for the lumbar spine. Recognize the more prevalent low back pathologies seen in musculoskeletal practice and evaluate the treatment-oriented evidence behind each of the disease processes. Recognize the proposed benefit to classifying low back conditions by similarity and understand the role that guidelines can play in concert with classification.
The concordant techniques used to target the primary impairment are explained, as well as the adjunctive techniques used to target the primary impairment and secondary contributors, and the techniques used to target global conditional issues. Analyze the effectiveness of each technique for treatment within the classifications.
This course is part of a 19 course comprehensive clinical series covering examination and intervention for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as the upper (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand) and lower (hip, pelvis, knee, foot, and ankle) quarters.
