Check out my first look of the new Skoda Elroq compact electric SUV expected in Ireland in 2025 priced from €36,545.

The Skoda Elroq is a new electric SUV from the Czech car brand built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB electric vehicle platform that already underpins bestsellers like the Skoda Enyaq, Volkswagen ID.3 and Volkswagen ID.4.

The new Elroq is similarly sized to the fuel-powered Skoda Karoq and looks set to rival other compact electric SUVs like the BYD Atto 3 and Kia EV3. It will slot into the Skoda range below the Enyaq but above the upcoming Skoda Epiq, which will be the brand's small electric SUV offering. It actually has the same wheelbase as the Enyaq. But shorter overhangs front and rear give it a smart, compact stance.
