New research reveals a surge in scepticism about the value of a university education with 31% of people now believing that getting a degree isn't worth the hefty price tag – a dramatic rise from just 18% in 2018.
The findings, uncovered by the Policy Institute at King's College London, show a worrying trend among parents too with kids aged 11 to 17 who think their children will apply to university has dropped from 65% a decade ago to just 59% now.
