The Maasai community is globally re-known for its strong traditions and cultural preservation.
Among the most celebrated traditions is the “Eunoto” rite of passage for Morans which is observed once after every 10 years when young Morans graduate into junior community elders.
During the graduation, several rites are observed including shaving off the Moran’s hair that had been preserved and grown for 10 years.
The ceremony is characterized by an overnight session of song and dance until the Morans are possessed by spirits making to shake uncontrollably.
