– CONFERENCE ON BIOECONOMY AND THE OUTCOME OF THE NORDBIO PROJECTS
The Icelandic NordBio steering group committee and the Nordic Council of Ministers are pleased to invite you to the international conference Minding the future. Bioeconomy in a changing Nordic reality.
The conference will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland 5 – 6 October 2016, at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre.
Our ambition is to offer a lively, informative and inspiring conference. The program will consist of stimulating plenary sessions and lively seminars dedicated to the theme. And, last but not least, it will be complemented with social programs, including an opening ceremony and welcome reception on 4th of October and dinner on 5th of October.
We hope to attract a broad participation from different sectors to this conference, such as scientists, experts, scholars, policy makers, politicians, public and private sectors, as well as NGOs.
What is NordBio?
The Nordic bioeconomy initiative (NordBio) is a priority program under the Icelandic chairmanship of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The program covers three years (2014-2016) and is a collaboration of five Nordic councils of ministers. Within the program a broad group of Nordic bioeconomy experts are pooling their efforts in working on projects promoting sustainable u of living natural resources.
NordBio’s goal is to make the Nordic countries leading in the field of sustainable production and use of living natural resources in order to reduce waste and promote innovation, green economy and regional development, as well as to introduce new and creative methods of learning.
