So much to say about this song. First of all, this song is about a true story where a bunch of rebel lads steal a protestant doctor's car. But, this song has so many damn variants! First of all, the most common lyrics to the song are missing an entire verse that the original has. Many different versions have small variations, like the location of places, and so much more. I'd recommend listening to these covers and trying to find the differences so you can become a Johnson-ologist like me! Oh, and I guess the real life car Johnson owned was supposedly found in Donegal, but the damn news article is blocked behind a paywall, and no inspect element would work as they turned off scrolling, those sneaky bastards... Also also also, there was a completely unrelated car company back in like the 60s I think called Johnson's motor cars, which I think is funny.
