Bantwala gramapanchayath president Premalatha was arrested by Vitla Police in a fraud case. Premalatha, a BJP leader, is said to have cheated a JDS leader and TYCOON company chairman Venkateshmurthy of about 17 lakh rupees by giving false assurance of giving gold items for cheap rate. A cheater gang, led by Ashraf, from Kerala's Kannanur is said to be involved in this case... Premalatha is shifted from Vittal police station to Kannanur police station.... But, Kumari Premalatha had never before involved in any illegal activities. Despite, been a member of gram panchayath for 2 times, Premalatha is very poor. She is unmarried and stays with her younger sister Vijaya in Bantwal... As per her panchayath colleagues, she never involved in corruption cases before... It is still to be established whether she directly involved in this cheating case... or she herself was trapped by cheaters...
