All new and ongoing construction works along the coastline of Senegal's capital, Dakar, are now suspended. In recent years, the once beautiful seaboard has been overshadowed by towering concrete structures. And new Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko created a commission to determine which building developments can go ahead, a move lauded by environmental activists.
