Rescue workers sealed a 226-meter breach in a dike at China's second-largest freshwater lake at 10:31 p.m. on July 8. The repairs to the dike at Dongting Lake will expedite drainage and post-disaster reconstruction.
Floodwaters from torrential rain caused the breach on the afternoon of July 5.
