In order to be able to select different tools in a flexible robot cell, a tool changer is often helpful. In this application you can see the worlds first plug & play tool chnager for hollow wrist robots. The design is characterized by its integrated media routing, i.e. the hose package runs inside the upper arm, so that we do not get any interfering contours on the side of the robot. The unique feature of this tool changer is that the signals are on the inside, so there are no external modules getting in the way. In this application the robot can switch between different tools, such as a surface laser sensor, which is controlled via our ProfiNet communication. In addition to current and voltage transmission, the TC20ID offers up to 10 freely assignable air or vacuum channels.
