Walter's Hot Dog Stand in Westchester County, NY is one of the most famous hot dog stands in the entire country. Also known as Walter's Hot Dogs, the stand has been running since 1919 and is known for its unique Ancient Chinese pagoda architecture. It is a neat example of the roadside architecture era of the early 20th century and the building is so beautiful that Walter's Hot Dogs is a National Register of Historic Places designated national landmark by the US government.
However, Walter's Hot Dog Stand in Mamaroneck is not just famous for its unique building. The food is by far the most famous aspect of this restaurant. Many people say Walter's Hot Dogs is the best hot dog in America, or at least the best hot dog in New York state and the best hot dog in NYC area. The hot dogs are split grilled, consisting of a unique blend of pork, beef, and veal, various spices, and grilled in a secret sauce. The result? People say it is hands down the best hot dog in the world.
