The leaders of Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom have pledged to stay committed to their 50-year defence pact. They have also approved plans to ensure that the Five Power Defence Arrangements remains effective against new security threats and relevant amid geopolitical shifts. Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the FPDA is an excellent example of a multilateral security group adapting and contributing to regional peace and stability.
