What would you do if wild elephants came through your yard on a regular basis? Many of India's national parks are too small to contain the animals that live in them. Those that wander out can cause damage to crops and even injure or kill humans. India's government will help people recoup losses caused by the animals, but the process is complicated and long. National Geographic Emerging Explorer Krithi Karanth created WildSeve, a program to help people with the process. People can call a phone number, and WildSeve will send a representative to help document the damage and fill out and file all necessary paperwork. In just 10 months the program helped 3,000 families.
