* A bit more about Rocamadour
Sitting on the edge of a cliff, in the Lot department, it is known for its 'Cité religieuse', a complex of religious buildings accessible by numerous stone stairs. Among these buildings are the Notre-Dame chapel, with its statue of the Black Madonna, and the basilica of Saint-Sauveur, of Roman-Gothic architecture. Rocamadour is both a place of legend and a place of history where old stone houses, majestic towers and a castle keep cascade off the cliff into the Alzou canyon.
