Just after the lunch stop in Bobbio we are released with a gang of Countach. Driving at less than 4/10ths we enter a village and the out-rider misses the junction and comes to a halt at which point the Austrian chap in his LP400 rams me up the rear.

I'm furious but luckily for our Austrian friend he is wailing like a baby and appears upset after a '10 year restoration'. The damage to my car is mainly to the exhaust system, which has been pushed back into the chassis on the nearside but looked was thankfully drivable. The Plate was hanging off the body of the car as the rivets had been snapped out and the exhaust shield had been mangled along with the box section it sits on. Thankfully the rear camera attached to the bottom of the plate was still operational.

A local gave me some green gardening wire and I unscrewed one side of each of the number plate lights to gain access to the inside of the rear luggage compartment which allowed me to strap the wire around some braces within the compartment.

The Lamborghini Mechanics wanted to trailer my car away and effectively put me out of the tour. After spending 4 days traveling to the event from Newcastle Upon Tyne via Kent, Reims and Annecy I really didn't want this to be the end. I asked the Mechanics to follow me for 5 miles to check nothing was going to fall off or further signs of damage.

Thankfully after the 5 miles I get the all clear and continue to the end.
