This is the famous first chapter of the Analects, in which Confucius narrates pleasures of the simple life. The pleasure of studying also has a practical aspect--that you could be hired based on your knowledge and expertise. Even if you aren't recognized for your talent, Confucius says, it's not your fault, and your dignity should remain untarnished.
