Special Thanks to Frazier Douglass of Modern Tent Camping for getting me started on this project with the idea.
I did multiple cuts one done before my morning coffee yesterday is close to best. Still learning and lots more to learn as I go. One thing is for certain. Cowboy coffee is a whole lot easier in a larger pot. Cold water did work. With smaller pots you go from boil to overflow in seconds so watch them carefully. Water and banging pot worked fine. I had done it before off camera with just banging pot, but decided to go with both today.
So here is the Cliff Notes Version for Cowboy Coffee:

Kent Rollins on how to cook Cowboy Coffee (From above link):
([Oh and Sorry to Kent as I say At instead of and at one point in my video when mentioning you and Driftaway Coffee for being coffee experts. )
Cowboy Coffee - Cowboy Kent Rollins
Ingredients
1/4 cup coffee grounds
1 quart warm water
Instructions
If using a coffee pot, fill with water to the bottom of the spout and warm. Depending on what size pot you are using you can estimate 1/4 cup of grounds to 1 quart of water.
Add the coffee grounds and bring to a rolling boil. To prevent the water from boiling water you can slightly reduce the heat when boiling. Boil for about 4 minutes- the longer the boil the stouter the coffee will be.
Remove the pot from the heat and let rest 2 minutes. Pour about 1/2 to 3/4 cup for smaller pots and 1 to 1 1/2 cups of cold water for larger pots down the spout and in the top of the pot. The cold water will settle the grounds.
Serve hot.
LASTLY .25 cups = 4 TBS Which is why I used one shot glass 3 TBS coffee for 2 cups water.
