Sarah focuses on how hard work and determination can help you to make your dream a reality. She encourages those who feel like they have had to work so hard for everything they have, to keep going and highlights the importance of working with what you currently have and making the most of a little.
With special thanks to core the TEDxTottenham organising team, volunteers and cherished partners - without you this experience would not be possible. Our event history can be found at TEDxTottenham.com.
Intro Music - "Rain" by Alicia Grace(produced by Stevey Reid)
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organised. Sarah Aluko is a Nigerian-British Author and Poet. Her poetry speaks of womanhood, being black, love and loss. In 2017, Sarah Aluko released her debut anthology, Firstborn, on International Women’s Day. Since then Sarah has been commissioned to write for technology giants Microsoft and Nasty Women. Sarah has since been long-listed for the Outspoken Poetry Prize for two years in a row and was listed as part of Nasty Boy’s Creative Class of 2018. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
