A popular choice in Rio de Janeiro for royalty and celebrities since 1923, the Copacabana Palace is without doubt one of the TOP 10 hotels in Brazil.
Like its Belmond cousin at Iguassu Falls, Hotel das Cataratas, that we also recently stayed at, this establishment offers superlative service and super luxurious residences.
Everything about this Belmond property is, as to be expected, world-class and beyond the mundane & ordinary.
We even found a handwritten note on the coffee table in our living room at this iconic white palace from Andrea Emmerling - general manager of the other architectural jewel, the iconic pink palace of Hotel das Cataratas - whom we had the opportunity to personally meet during our recent stay at Iguassu Falls!!!
Our sincere gratitude to Ulisses Marreiros (general manager) and his formidable army of carefully selected well-trained & hardworking employees for maintaining the long tradition of excellence that the Copacabana Palace is synonymous with.
A special "thank you" also to Anna Carolina for the warm welcome at reception and to her colleague Nina; to concierge Diego for waiting patiently with our luggage and showing us around our 1-bedroom apartment with pool & beach views from the 6th floor; to Anna, Ivan, Carlos & Victor at the Pergula restaurant; and to the many others whose names we regrettably do not know who work behind-the-scenes.
It is an honour, privilege & pleasure to be here ... in the playground of royalty & celebrities.
