For this activity we will think about how a tree can represent our lives. The roots represent our roots which are so important to who we are. The trunk and the branches symbolise who we are as we grow into individuals with our character, talents, dreams and aspirations and all that makes us grow into the people we are or hope to be. The materials we will use are paper, a black pen, glue, scissors and scrap paper to stick onto our picture and make a collage. We can use shape punches and other decorations. This is one of a series of short simple art activities created for Refugee Week 2021 with Leicester Museum and Art Gallery. The aim is to enable people taking part, of all ages, to be able to enjoy being creative.
