To get a reverse confession you need to meet the following requirements:
1. See the person's black and purple heart events.
2. Have the person at 25,000 FP or greater (halfway between blue and green heart).
3. Have a ring in your backpack. You can buy a ring from Hana's store after you get a bachelor(ette) up to blue heart.
4. Give the person at least 100 gifts. Even gifts that give negative FP count towards this.

If you meet those requirements, then with the ring in your backpack, walk into the person's house or bedroom on a sunny, non-festival Saturday or Sunday. The time of day does not matter. If the person lives in a house with multiple rooms or stories, you need to go to where their bedroom is located.

If the event does not trigger, save your game and try giving the person the ring. If they accept, then you haven't given them 100 gifts yet. If they don't accept, something else is going on.
