By harnessing his passion to create change, Nate explores why it is important to get young people into nature. Nate Wilbourne is a 14-year-old environmentalist from Nelson, NZ. By harnessing his passion to create change, he is inspiring and involving young people to protect planet earth and do their part to reverse the crisis facing nature in New Zealand. Through his involvement in conservation, Nate is nationally recognized by several environmental organisations and charities.
He believes that by connecting youth to nature through education and inspiration, we can change the world. As young people are spending more time indoors and less time outdoors, youth need to be at the centre of decision-making tables to ensure that their voices are heard in the decisions that will affect our future.
Sharing his personal experience and affirmation on statistics and reports, he shows us what it’s like to be in the shoes of a high-school student, and the importance of environmental education. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
