**********Video**********
In this video, I describe the problem with beef, and other livestock animals. I specifically cite how livestock account for 14% of the total 24% emissions accounted for by Forestry, agriculture and land use.
I then explain why the footprint of beef is so high, including factors such as Land use, Methane emissions, Operating slaughter houses, Packaging, and transportation as my main reasons.
Finally, I outline ways we can more easily move away from beef by changing our diets to plant forward, flexitarian, and medditerranian. (All of which reduce beef consumption, without cutting it out completely.) I also reach out to restaurant owners and and catering services, bringing up the point that plant based meats are an 800 million dollar a year industry with a 10% growth rate.
Enjoy!
