And of course, EU force presence, and its increased presence in particular, played a critical role."

21. Helicopters flying over soldiers
STORYLINE:
Thousands of troops from a joint EU peacekeeping mission force in Bosnia have conducted a large scale military exercise named "Global response 2022" amid heightened tensions in the country.
Soldiers from 20 different countries took part in the exercise along with the participation of special forces from Italy, Austria and Turkey, showing their capabilities to react to any potential threat to peace in Bosnia.
The European Union decided to beef up its military presence earlier this year in Bosnia.
Aurelie Valtat, deputy head of EU mission to Bosnia said that the increased EU presence "underlines, the EU's unequivocal commitment to sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Bosnia Herzegovina".
