Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Labor going “on the attack” over the alleged “unlawful” allocation of the ‘sports rorts’ funds lacks any substantial proof.
Labor suggested former sports minister Bridget McKenzie gave approval for the third round of funding for sports clubs 16 minutes after the prime minister called the election.
Labor has accused the government of “covering it up” after the prime minister revealed Ms McKenzie had decided upon the recipients of the grants the week before the election was called.
Mr Bolt said Labor had “no evidence for this smear,” so the scandal is a “rort, but nothing more”.
