Company Eden Brew has developed an animal-free milk that is expected to be sold in-store by 2024.
“We use yeast to brew proteins and then we take those proteins and they’re nature-identical, just like what forms in the cow’s tummy and we bind it up with all nutrition,” Eden Brew CEO Jim Fader told Sky News Australia.
Mr Fader says consumers are not going to be able to tell the difference between lab-grown and dairy milk.
“We will be the same price as dairy milk on sale in supermarkets by 2028.
“We use a fraction of the water, a fraction of the land. There’s no methane emissions from animals and no pollution into the water systems.”
